At some point in the evolution of who we are, we will each become aware of some facet of ourselves that we just don't want to acknowledge, accept, want, or be. Our shadow holds just as many facets of us as our light. We are afraid of our Light because deep down we know that as we embrace the Light of who we truly are, we must face our shadow too. Our shadow contains all of the things about us that are not unconditional love, perhaps it is what really makes us human. That shadow is filled with fear and reacts from fear even when we might consciously choose love. The shadow is the part of ourselves who can be our greatest teacher AND ally if we can only learn to accept it and love it unconditionally too.
