Ego and unity

I'm really embracing the idea that "ego is not a dirty word" as Skyhooks sang in the 70's and I wrote about a few weeks ago.  My perception of ego is now at the place where I can believe it is just fear and I have needed that fear to help me be safe in life.  It's ego that has helped me to become an "I" in this world; given me an identity that my limited consciousness can relate to (even though fearfully for the most part before); allowed me to strive and grasp for something better; engulfed me in the blackest unconsciousness that love can be buried in so that I could find the light at all; motivated me through all manner of perceived defeats; shut down my thoughts, feelings and actions when they would have been fatal to me or someone else; compartmentalised itself into manageable pieces for me; fought for me and with me; saved my life repeatedly and, introduced me to my Soul.  Ego is as much a part of my Soul as God is and as You are.

There are so many cautions around ego in this world and for good reason: our perception of ego is as individual as we each are.  For some people ego is all there is and for others ego is to be eradicated completely - I believe that neither is wrong.  For me ego serves its purpose in a divine way and all I need to know now is how to love ego unconditionally.

One of my favourite inspirational readings is called "Start With Yourself": http://www.inspirationpeak.com/cgi-bin/stories.cgi?record=118

It took me almost 40 years to learn that if I don't like my world, I can change it but only by changing myself.  I'm able to see now that everything in my world is a mirror and use it to help myself wake up from ego's dream.  I do love my ego now and appreciate all its done for me.  I also want to be love and I know that ego needs help with that.  Soul is that help and in loving me, I love you too because we are one and the same energy.

Ego would have me believe that we are different and can't be one but Soul knows better.  Soul and ego are merely energy and both have a divine purpose.  My gift is to respect that and love that and work with Soul to calm ego so they can both contribute equally.  In the centre of that space is my bliss and my joy.  This is the void where laughter rings freely; where love reigns and fear ceases to exist; where dreams are made and everything is natural and understood.  This is where we are all one, united and unified.  This is where no harm happens, no war is needed, no fear is evident and no truth can hide for it has no thing to hide from. This is the truth of light and it's where it begins.

I am grateful to my ego and my Soul for giving me such amazing lessons to learn from and for accompanying me on the journey of a lifetime - this lifetime.

NamasteπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Surrender

Yesterday while driving to an appointment I had the massive realisation that I've spent 47 years hating my Soul.  In getting to know the different facets of my own ego and learning unconditional self-love over the past 12 years, I've met the light and the dark in myself.  I've found compassion, forgiveness, understanding, gratitude, purpose and strength within that diamond I could call my Self.  I have acknowledged and accepted facets of myself that I once hated, was terrified of, ran from and tried to disown completely, tried to kill through self-mutilation and multiple suicide attempts, and I have learned to love instead.  In doing this the way that worked best for me, I discovered facets of myself that were young, old, female, male, non-human, innocent, predatory, humble, autistic, manic, depressed, egoic, fragile, strong associated, dissociated and timeless.  Each facet presented with its own unique energy and name and I initially thought I was crazy.  Then I got real with myself and life started to improve.

Just because my gut gave me the information doesn't make that info wrong.  I've been blessed with psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors, case workers and friends who have understood and supported my healing.  I've worked really hard to honour myself in this process and reach for a love the same as what I had for my children but had no idea I could find it for myself - unconditional love.  I used to pride myself on how non-judgmental I thought I was until I learned I wasn't.  I learned that I was one of the most judgmental people I knew and I was so horrified that I set out to change that. Again my ego began to preen over how non-judgmental I thought was and again I learned I wasn't.  Judging myself is still judgment and now, instead of trying to change it, I'm learning to love me anyway, just as I am.  Judging myself for judging is like fighting for peace - it's impossible.  The moment I begin fighting, I become the one who is destroying the peace.  The moment I begin trying to change myself, I am making judgments and then I'm in a vicious loop.

Accepting who I am and loving me anyway is having a far more amazing impact on every aspect of my life.  I'm seeing more of the beauty in others, more miracles in my life, more kindness in the world and, I have so much more compassion, empathy and patience.  My understanding of things is changing at a remarkable rate and things that once made no sense to me at all are now very simple to digest.  I now delight in life and am even learning to have innocent fun.  Laughter now flows as freely as tears, I can find positives in anything, depression no longer exists within me, my body is healing illness and disabilities, plants and animals respond to me and I can see my own glow.  I finally feel free and it feels good.  Nobody set me free, I am learning to love what I used to judge in myself (and others).

So there were all of these aspects of my Self that I once hated and can now love.  That, I have realised lately, is a form of deconstructing the ego with love, a form of surrender.  The ego is fear and cannot fight love.  Sure it can resist but it's futile because love always has more power than fear.  The ego doesn't believe that and tries to convince us that love has no power because the ego knows the power of love but cannot create that.  Only the Soul can provide the power of love.  Knowing this and knowing that my Soul and ego are equally important is making a huge difference for me.  I had thought that the embryonic me was the last aspect of myself that I could learn to love but I recognise that ego had a hand there.  I was stunned yesterday with the realisation that it's been my Soul that I hated all along.  My ego wanted me to believe that I hated every aspect of myself so I would not find this truth.  I feel really grateful to my ego for this because that part of my journey through life has taught me incredible things, brought me into contact with amazing people and, made Love my highest passion.  I've gained faith, trust, empathy, strength, courage, wisdom, knowledge, discipline and so much more from all this.

My Soul is free now to be as much a part of me as I am of it and I have my ego to thank for that liberation.  I could easily focus on how many perceived obstacles my ego put in my way but that is part of the miracle, it was the obstacles, the misery, the suffering and the pain that made me want to make changes.  These are the very things that showed me just how much I can be outside my fears.  I choose to celebrate now.  I know now that I can choose my thoughts and my feelings and that choice can improve my life or destroy it, the choice is always mine.  I once believed I had no choices) as an adult or a child).  Now I know that I've always had choices, I was just terrified to own them.  Powerlessness is a choice too and the Soul has no concept of it, it does not recognise age, gender, terror, pain or anything else other than love and learning.  I love my Soul and now I accept it as part of me too.  There is no longer any facet of myself that I cannot love unconditionally too and that is a fabulous feeling that flows from me to the entire populace, I love you with that same unconditionality, and I love my ego too.

Ajna awakens

About 12 years ago I sat wondering why one person could possibly have to experience so much pain in one lifetime.  I was so immersed in the pain that I felt as if I couldn't possibly escape it so my mind did the only thing it could imagine - tried to justify the experiences.  I meditated daily on it and what finally emerged was that there was almost no trauma that I could not empathize with.  I had experienced so much first hand and supported so many friends with other things too that I suddenly realised I could use my experiences of pain to help others in some way but how?  I set off on a journey of healing my own brokenness and shame and learning systemic education in order to be of more assistance - or so I thought.

I came to learn that as much as education matters, without intuition, love, passion and life-experience, it was just another piece of paper for my ego to puff up over.  I began letting go of the need I had to tell myself I needed more education to help others.  I also began helping others.  I studied the curriculums necessary to serve in the areas that I did, I just stopped telling myself that I was worthless without a uni degree or a school certificate to do it with.  I began to focus more on my intuition and came to realise just how helpful it had been in my life.  After years of hating my mind, I began to acknowledge and appreciate what it can do too and already has done for me. The journey from there to here has been incredible.

Over the next 12 years, I got to know my own mind and celebrate it as it is.  I found out some amazing and exciting things about the way my mind works and at Heal For Life Foundation (www.healforlife.com.au) I learned about neuroscience, attachment styles, transactional analysis, developmental stages, the history of trauma theories and how faith can assist in healing from trauma.  I amassed over 10,000 hours of study and service there and I felt the peace of believing I had found my life's passion.  I felt like I had found myself and was intent on serving the world that way for ever.  Then forever changed.

During my journey of self discovery I had come to fully trust my intuition and my higher power, the God of my own understanding.  For me, God is Love and Light and I have given myself to serve my God in whatever way I'm asked.  When asked to build a portable house on someone else's land with no chance of knowing if I could stay, I meditated for weeks, discussed it with my partner and said yes.  Although the bank only offered $27,000 as the building price, I knew I still needed to go ahead.  A few months later when my dream appeared to end abruptly and painfully, I prayed hard for days and then I followed God.  It was time to learn more and to let go again.  I really struggled this time because I'd become so attached to my dream. I had felt so useful, passionate, devoted and inspired by what I was doing and I didn't want to let go at all.  Luckily I had built up an enormous amount of faith and so I jumped.  I took another huge, life-changing leap.  And I'm okay.  Even this blog has been borne of faith.  I was once so afraid that I would not even share my phone number with friends!  When I felt led to start this page I argued a little as it felt terrifying to me to open up like this to potentially the whole world but, as I meditated on it, I knew it's another gift of learning and growing so here it is.

There have been times in the past year when I thought I couldn't possibly get through.  I got married right at ground zero and thank god that I did because that kept me going through the worst part of my breaking.  As my ego began deconstructing, I had that net of loves bliss to land in and it saved me.

The biggest surprise to me is how the old pain from my past has led me through all this.  Every time I thought I couldn't, my kind threw up a memory to show me that I already have. I've learned things that I did not previously know existed, about myself and the world.  I've learned so much about who I AM and that the world is only reflecting back to me who I am and what I need.  I've learned that my own judgments have created my suffering and that my pain was as Rumi calls it "the breaking of the shell of my understanding".  I've finally found forgiveness and even gratitude for the other people I once accused of causing my pain, even as a child.  That has been one of the most amazing and liberating things ice ever experienced.  That pain is now gone completely and I feel so grateful for that.

Now I can be who I've always known myself to be, a loving soul.
I can't yet describe the depth of the gratitude and bliss that I feel for my life, pain and all.  Maybe I'll never be able to describe that, maybe it's not meant to be put into words but is to be experienced and felt by each of us in our own way when the time is right.

Right now I know that everything has changed for me and I am happy serving my God in smaller ways while I rediscover myself at an entirely new level.  Life will be what it will be and that's okay with me.

Awakening to self love

As a part of my journey to self-love aka life, I have made many changes to my life, particularly over the past year.  The first and biggest change was to walk away from abusive behaviours so that I could see past my own ego.  I know now that all I could see before was that other people were abusing me.  What I see now is that I was abusing me and they were reflecting that for me.  The fear of my ego would not let me see the truth until I surrendered the fear and jumped into it boots and all, surrendering to my faith.  Once I made that leap, I became acutely aware of all the ways I was still not loving myself through judging, expectations, limitations, accusations, blaming others, pushing down feelings, getting sick, creating pain and dis-ease, ingesting poisons as food and drink, smoking and denying my own truth to gain approval.  These are all forms of self-abuse that I could not see in myself and becoming aware of them has taken time, effort, determination and great love.

The minute I decided to walk away from the abusive behaviour of those around me, I saw that my smoking cigarettes was a way I was abusing myself too.  I became ill immediately after quitting and smoked again after 10 days but my Soul had other ideas and, gave me someone else to blame so I could stop for good. Although blame is not ideal, at the vibration I was at then, it was the most helpful way for me to love myself enough to stop.  I was still a victim to my own darkness and so blaming the tobacco companies for putting drugs into me that masked the effects of advanced disease was exactly what I needed to do to kick it for good.  Once that particular mindset changed, a giant flood gate opened inside me and I was off and flowing.  I felt insane for a while, feeling after feeling emerged for release and I nurtured each one like a mother tends a small child.  I gave myself permission to lay on my bed and feel every feeling that arose, releasing the energy of it as soon as it surfaced.  As scary as it sometimes was, it also felt fabulous to know that after 47 years, I was finally able to stay in the now when a feeling arose inside me.

After 12 years of solid healing, I could be fully in the present without judgment or fear.  As each feeling presented and flowed through me, I was able to hold the space for myself, not drown in it, bring myself back from it and, congratulate myself afterwards while finding something adult to do also.  Within weeks I felt a huge shift internally and was shocked to recognise I had integrated my brain.  Integration does not only happen between hemispheres, it is a whole-brain process and, I had achieved it.  At first I was terrified because all of the former aspects of my ego that I had relied on to tell me who I was were now gone.  For one brief moment I was terrified but then I just knew it was integration and I marveled at what might be next.

During all this, I developed incredible pain in my jaw and teeth and after a disastrous trip to the dentist, realised there was no way I could afford for the dentist to help me.  I asked my inner child what I needed to do and was told to stop eating meat.  That made sense to me as the trouble was with my chewing teeth.  I stopped eating meat of any kind on 1st January this year and my mouth settled down within weeks.  I have since stopped eating all animal proteins, coffee and sweeteners too but, I do have a vegetarian pizza occasionally and a soy chai latte twice a week.  I'm working on changing that too and my body is very very happy with me.  I have lived with so much pain in my life until recently.  I'm trying to drink more water and meditation is helping with that because during meditation I get so thirsty I can hardly breathe through the dryness of my mouth.  I'm trying different teas and don't like the taste of black teas but I've now found white tea, nettle tea and detox tea which I'm loving.  My sister made me a tea cosy (pictured above) so now my tea even stays warm in my frost-filled outdoor dining room.

In the past 11 months a whole new world view has opened up for me, I've weathered an existential crisis of epic proportions because it was time to learn to love myself to a new level so that I can be of more service in the world.  I can think of no greater honour than loving humanity and I feel so grateful to have the opportunities I have had, the awakening that I have had.  I know there's more and that will unfold in its own time.  Right now I have this moment to enjoy so I am off to say good morning to my toothbrush and my chakra garden, 2 of my new best friends.

I hope you have a great day today and find another way to love yourself awake too. πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

Off to school

Today I'm off to school for the 2nd last workshop in the Path of Ease and Grace series at Shakti Durga's Shanti Mission (www.shantimission.org).  So far the course content has been an incredibly affirming thing for me.  When I first enrolled I felt afraid and anxious, trying to navigate a part of my journey through life that I was unaware I would reach.
I have been aware of my spirituality for quite a while and have built a strong faith for myself based on love.  I had felt like that faith had raised me up to the highest love I could aspire to and I felt so very blessed with where my life was at.  In rising above my old, lower vibrational self, I discovered a higher Grace to fall into, a higher understanding of love.  I discovered a more authentic way of being and I knew I had to be that, no matter what it cost me.

I've been through this kind of awakening before and did not know what it was so I struggled through as best I could.  This time I'm ready, I know what to do.  As difficult and scary as last time was, it prepared me for now.  This time I know that I need Safety-Information (healthy & balanced)-Support (professional & personal)-Connection to my Inner Child in order to flourish.  This time I know what stages of development I will go through and that time is as much an illusion as fear is.  This time I know that I can do it and that I will be okay.  This time I know I have love on my side.  This time I love me enough to reach for the sky and know that I too deserve all of the blessings that I have prayed everyone else would receive.

Attending a 'school for the soul' was daunting at first.  I held so much fear energy within me, unaware of how much I still believed life would attack me at the first chance.  Although it had occurred to me a long time before that whatever I focus my energy on would be my reality, I was not very skilled at cementing the belief of it and I did not know where to get support to learn how.  I knew I had to find some way of strengthening that positivity into my core. I feel fortunate that some people I care deeply for and respect a great deal had been involved with Shanti Mission for quite some time and they gave off great vibes.  Once I knew I needed something of a much higher vibration in my life, I felt drawn to that school and knew that I had to at least check it out.

I'm only relatively new to the school and I don't presume to know anything more than who I am.  I'm enjoying the learning and the people immensely.  I call it University because energetically that's what it feels like for me.  I've even recognised that developmental stage of going from being a senior in high school to a first year uni student and how different that feels inside.  That's how I feel and for me the Path of Ease and Grace honours that feeling and every other feeling and developmental stage.  It values individuality, unconditionality and integrity and incorporates the true worth of each person present into every minute of every session.  The teachers are walking the path they are presenting and do not pretend to be anything they are not.  It's like a dream come true for me and I feel so blessed to be able to learn there.  The community is beautiful and welcoming and there are plenty of opportunities to give and receive in balance.   Support is always available and in a non-rescuing, empowering way that promotes and mirrors personal responsibility.  That feels so safe and healthy to me and I really appreciate each soul that fosters that environment.

Whatever divine purpose I am serving by being a part of this school and community, I know it's the right choice for me.  I aspire to grow and learn in whatever way I can to be of service to the world.  I have accepted now that no matter what I do or be, I have to be of service to God or I feel empty and dead inside.  There is so much opportunity to be love in service to humanity and I long ago recognised that I am love; that Love is who and what I am.  I can be and do nothing else now.  It is Love that leads me and sustains me and now I have an opportunity to reach more fully within myself and find the Love at the core of my being reflected back to me from the rest of creation.  My community and school is teaching me to keep myself safe in that Love so I can be harmless and helpful and that is the kind of school and community I need.

What a blessing life can be.

Day 21 of 21

Day 21/21

I made it!  After 5 other dolls in 7 years, I have been able to make it all the way through 21 days without stopping!  Not only am I aware of how much more I love, trust and respect myself than ever before, I can feel it too.  I am sure I hadn't made it all the way before because it wasn't time.  I've always had huge success with this baby doll exercise, the healing I've experienced is phenomenal every time.  As with most deep healing, it's not all rainbows and sunbeams, a lot of painful things arise that need attention, acknowledgement and safe expression.  I've spent years becoming strong enough and compassionate enough to be able to parent myself through this and it's feeling pretty amazing right now.

Over the past 11 months, all of the old memories that I still had any attachment to on any level, surfaced again for completion.  This time I was able to feel the associated feelings in the moment because I ensured I wasn't too busy or distracted to do that.  This was the period of time I have been able to gift myself the beauty of living in the moment.  No matter what emotion activated, I allowed it to flow and pass through me - my body, my mind, my energy field; no attachment.  I imagine that's what life is always like for many but it has not been like that for me before this year.  I feel so much peace around this gift I have given to myself.  Yes a lot of miserable moments popped in and this time, I am able to flip them all and find the Soul lesson in each one, finally seeing a positive in each one.  If someone had told me a few years ago that I would one day find positives in the experiences of my life, I would never have believed that.  Now I know that none of it defines me and that I can overcome and rise above absolutely anything that life holds for me.  I also believe the hard part is over now and it was actually only hard because I saw it that way.

Yesterday I had a moment and I started to feel upset but as a tear filled my eye, I immediately started to flip it and ask myself what the positive was. After years of practice, I love it so much when my beloved brain automatically seeks the good in my experiences or feelings, for me it's like confirmation that my work is getting me somewhere that I want to go.  These are like signs of success so that I can rise even higher into my life's bliss.  Being able to remember the black abyss of depression and see how far I've come since being at the bottom of that hole is actually inspiring to me now.  Just as so many people I've met have inspired me to keep going, I'm now also inspiring myself.

For a time, in order to wrap my head around what an Inner Child even is, I needed to external use it.  I needed to project the Child me out so I could see it as real, see myself as real in fact.  Starting with looking at photos of myself as a child helped me to imagine that I ever was a child.  I had always felt so old and never remembered being a little kid so I had no connection at all to that part of myself once and therefore no compassion.  The photos helped me learn to visualise the Child within and then helping others find and build a relationship with their own Inner Child helped me to strengthen my relationship with mine. I then created an Inside/Outside box and found ways to make the child parts of me real and external while also beginning to accept the unity that must exist in that relationship too.  I and my Inner Child are one and the same being.  Having a baby doll to physically hold, look at and speak words of love and affirmation to was pivotal for me and this latest baby doll, made off my own baby photo, has had the most amazing impact of all.

The recommended 21 days are up today but this baby me is now who I am too.  The doll will stay in my life and I will continue to love and accept myself on every level.  I am sure more muck will rise to the surface and I am ready and grateful for the opportunity I now have to complete the healing cycle of each piece and finally let it all go.

Thank you baby June, you're a star and I love you - and thanks all of you who joined me for the past 21 days and sent so many messages of encouragement.  It takes a community to raise a child and that means an Inner Child too.

30 Jun 2016

Day 20/21 Why am I Doing This?

Day 20/21

As the scheduled time for the baby doll exercise draws to a close I'm reflecting on how hard I have fought against myself during my life.  I have had so much intuition assisting me and have fought it so determinedly for so long.  Up until the age of 35, I outright rejected intuition as something ridiculous at best.  Since then I've learned to acknowledge intuition and value it highly but not to really honour it through consistent attention and trust.  Yesterday I cried for all those times my intuitive guidance tried to help me and I ignored it.  I'm choosing to forgive myself for that and not to self-blame.  It is what it is and I have always tried hard so there is nothing to forgive, just an awareness to absorb into myself.  I used to think that intuition was self-love and that self-love was narcissism.  Because of this I have struggled at times to be as loving with myself as I can easily be with others.  When I first received divine guidance to create this blog, I felt scared and anxious about sharing myself and my experiences like this.  I was hesitant to open up to the world in such a private way and I sat with it for weeks, praying over the purpose of it and wondering whether or not it was God or my ego trying to guide me.  Fortunately, I know how differently divine energy feels from ego for me so I had to acknowledge the message I was given and go ahead.  Fear or not, I trusted there was some purpose to it all and the clear message was: "all you have to share with the world is you so share that."  I spent 15 years helping my birth family survive, another 16 years taking care of a husband and kids and then 12 years supporting survivors of childhood trauma in various ways, all while trying to survive and thrive myself.  I want to serve in the world and I have no attachment to how so for today sharing myself is it.  I do believe that I cannot take anyone to places I am not prepared to go to myself.  I long ago pondered why one person would have so many diverse and adverse experiences as I have had but I found peace in realising that there is not much I am unable to empathize with.  In healing the pain of my own trauma, particularly through working with the inner child, I am healing in my own way which is what I believe everyone has the right to do.

There are so many modalities of healing in the world today, each one fabulous in its own right but, I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all way to heal or grow.  We are all so very unique and individual and although at times our egos may want to control, judge and label everything and make everything and everyone the same, we are all different so it's not going to work.  We can choose to share or not share what works for us and others can choose whether or not to use it themselves.  That for me is the true beauty of free will - being able to choose what feels right for me, knowing and allowing that everyone else has the same right.  I reached a point in my healing where I wanted to help others and realised that if I stopped healing myself, that is as far as I could guide others to.
Considering that I want to help in any way I'm needed, I figured I need to not stop healing myself so I can go anywhere I'm needed, anytime, for anyone.  I won't stop.  I will do whatever it takes to be a healer, to help others as I've been helped, to guide others into their own sense of self so they too can choose to embark on the journey from head to heart if they wish.  I can walk alongside any person with any pain and not shy away and I can love enough now to walk into the darkest pit, hold someone's hand and walk out again knowing we are both safe and loved.  I know I can do that because I'm doing it for myself as I've done it for so many others and I don't think I'm anything special for doing it.  I simply believe it's what my purpose in life is.

I have had no harsher critic than me and even that is now a blessing as I have learned so much from that too.  Now I'm learning how to be my own ally, friend and supporter and this baby doll exercise is helping so much with that.  I learned great tools while volunteering at LifeLine Australia and while volunteering and working at Heal For Life Foundation www.healforlife.com.au (where I learned about the baby doll exercise).  Now I'm learning more great tools at Shanti Mission www.shantimission.orgthat are helping me to grow even more.

There are so many roads that each of us can take in life and every moment is a choice containing more choices.  I really believe that we each need to make the choices that feel right for us in the moment we make them and not beat up on ourselves if they don't work out the way we want them to.  That's as much a part of the learning as anything else.  No matter what behaviour we've learned, we can un-learn too and I love that I can learn and unlearn as much as I want to.  What I'm learning right now is that I really do only have myself to share with this world and there are no limits to the number of ways I can do that.  Right now writing is the way I choose and that is okay, in the new moments that tomorrow or other lifetimes bring, I may use a different form of expression and that's okay too.  I'm happy to follow divine guidance and not create expectations around it.  I've done enough judging to last me 2000 lifetimes and now I'm content to just love life, myself and all of creation.  I love the messages of thanks I get each day and I feel so grateful that so many people are finding this page helpful to them.  I also totally understand that there are other people who get nothing from it.  That's the beauty of the Internet for me, there is so much available that we each have more choice than ever before and, we can pick and choose to our hearts content.

In my choosing to love my own self and share that journey with you, I have reached a place inside that I didn't know existed.  A place where peace is the only feeling possible.  A place where nothing is real but love and nothing can shake that certainty.  It's a place I have visited but don't yet live in and I love that I can even make a choice around that.  Thank you for inspiring me to inspire you through simply being myself and sharing that each day.  I hope you know that you're making a difference in my world just by reading this post.  Thank you.  Bless you.  Namaste.

New Indoor Space - Day 19/21

Day 19/21

I've sent the past 2 days zoning the space in my new caravan so it meets all of the higher vibrational needs of my Soul - "Kiddie Korner", for play, reading, fun and feelings; "Devotional Den" for worship and prayer; "Talent Table" for writing and other crafts; "Needle Nook" for sewing and "Contemplation Cradle" for meditation and mantras.  Last but not least "Library Lane" for the masses of healing books I've collected over the years.  For the past 2 years the bulk of our belongings has sat unused in a shipping container and although we discussed letting go of it all a few times, we had not got around to actually doing it.  It turns out our procrastinating has paid off because we were able to repurpose about 1/2 of it so far in creating the chakra garden and now in kitting out the caravans.  I even found a couple of warm wraps I'd forgotten I owned so now it feels like I've got new clothes too, a luxury I'd given up on of late.  Amazingly, I also received a large tub of warm, recycled clothing just 2 days ago from one of my angelic friends so this week has been a bit like Christmas for me really, aaaaand I've been warm!!

I took my baby doll into "Kiddie Korner" the first day and it felt so good to see that baby me surrounded by all the toys and teddies that my husband has collected for me. I don't recall having toys as a child so this was another reclaiming of childhood in amassing the collection I have now.  I also have a few children's books so I can curl up and read stories to myself again among the toys, stickers and glow-in-the-dark stars, not to mention my mountain of coloring-in books, paints, pencils, pastels and bead-making kit to entertain the creative kid in me.

"Talent Table" is for my adult creativity to blossom through writing my books, poetry, journalling and any admin tasks I set myself.  Being next to Kiddie Corner, it also has the table-top for the above-mentioned creative pursuits to happen on.  "Library Lane" surrounds the table to keep the books within reach of my writing for easy access to quotes and in case I need to jog my memory for information.  Behind me sits my "Devotional Den" for multi-faith prayers and devotions, a shrine for divine worship and gratitude to bless my daily life and enrich my Soul while expanding my consciousness with even more love.  Next to that is my "Contemplation Cradle" with a double bed decked out as a large meditation cushion all comfy and colorful, doubling occasionally as a guest bed.  The "Needle Nook" completed the zones with all my sewing gear handy in one place so I can start thinking about creating my own style again.

Both my husband and I felt a spark of excitement in this project as it feels good to have an indoor living space again.  We love our little home and it has provided so much stimulation for our creativity and ability so it's the perfect home for us.  Living outdoors though has had drawbacks and it felt wasteful to have a whole house full of lovely things going to waste in a shipping container like ours was.  These caravans have created many delightful solutions to that and provided a project that connects us even more.  We are both enjoying allowing our inner children out to consult on our designs again.

I'm having 2 whole weeks at home soon so I can devote myself to the first edit on my book and get closer to publishing it.  I have almost enough words and it looks terrific, I just need to read it and see what it needs to polish it and ensure its worth reading.  I must say myself that after reading the first 30 pages I'm impressed.  I would read it myself if I had not written it.  As an autobiography it's not too shabby and it did draw me in.  I've been reading it to my baby doll as a kind of integration tool too, a way of sharing my pre-rebirth history with her.

There are so many layers of healing occurring for me with this baby doll and I have no idea what the future holds so I feel grateful for being able to be content with this moment.  I did a double-take when I got out my toys to put in the van because one of the baby dolls I used previously for this exercise now looks totally different to me.  I remembered the eyes on that doll being gray-blue when I used to look into them but now they are bright and light.  I find it fascinating that my eyes see pictures of myself differently too now and that gives me hope that my vision will clear as I progress also.

I really have not seen my life clearly in the past and I knew that was why my eyesight was beginning to fail.  I'm certain it will heal as the rest of my body has been in working through the layers of denial I had created around why I was in so much pain.  My life is not to blame for my pain because there is no blame for me anymore.  I've been learning and experiencing life and now I am letting go of the blame that victim-consciousness carries, I can see many things in it all to be grateful for so I choose to focus on that now instead.  I've done the work on honouring the story, the victim, the child, and the survivor. Now it's time to honour my Soul and let it all go with love, compassion, forgiveness and gratitude.  I feel so blessed to have reached such an amazing state of healing and I can only imagine the miracles that await.  For me right now, I delight in having an indoor space to feed my soul and an outdoor space (my chakra garden) to feed my body.  I feel healthy inside and out and I feel grateful to baby me for making it all possible in the first place.

Im worth it all

Day 17/21

My husband pointed out to me last night that I've been in a newborn state - sleeping, eating, pooping and crying.  I once would have felt offended by that or worried that I'm making problems for him but I feel excited.  I know I'm getting somewhere, doing what my soul needs me to do.  I have been able to be this baby me and parent myself with nurturing as well as be an adult too and not let go of responsibility and that's no small achievement.

When I first got the spiritual call to walk away from abuse and learn in a more advanced class, I was terrified and unsure.  My ego felt angry and scared of being that powerless and I feel very grateful that I had prepared myself so diligently for that very thing.  I already knew that I was going to feel powerless and terrified and I went into that willingly as an act of self-love.  According to leading trauma experts, childhood trauma only occurs when the child feels powerless terror.  Having healed 35 years of trauma and abuse experiences, I had reached a place within myself where I felt like I had restored or recreated all of the childhood moments I had thought I had not had.  I had managed to create a happy childhood through healing, happy enough that all the child parts of me now felt loved.

It made sense to me that if I want to fully heal, I now needed to re-experience the powerless terror of creation.   To be the baby at conception, in the womb, and newborn.  Those were the only states I perceived myself not to have ever experienced without trauma.  It was a very scary decision, one that no one around me seemed to understand or support.  It was a decision I knew I had to make, one that I felt led by God to make.  In the 11 months since then I've had the most incredible journey of discovery, particularly around my own attachment to life (or lack thereof).  I've recognised that even though I had healed so much and learned to love life, I was still fighting life and the opportunity life gives me to be supported.  I was able to give life 1000% but only receive 5%.  I still wasn't even fully breathing in my own life force! I was still rejecting life on an unconscious level.  It was time to be reborn and this time, to embrace life with all of the love that I am.

There were moments in the beginning where everything felt so chaotic and unfathomable that it took every shred of me to keep my equilibrium and not run screaming for the hills.  In those moments I prayed for and received guidance to help me use the tools I had to pull myself through it all.  Reacting to that blind chaos gave me the chance to look at my reaction and see the link I needed to in order to heal the wounds and open my heart more to embrace the experience.  Of course my ego didn't want me to embrace powerlessness so I nurtured my ego through that.  What else could a nurturing parent do when they can't control their child's experience.  There are many times in my life as a parent when I was powerless to do anything for my children but love them through what they were facing and now I was in a position to do that for my ego so I did.  I chose to surrender all of the power I felt I had and let God take care of the details.  I fell with all the grace I knew how and I endevoured to take full responsibility at the level of consciousness I was at.  As much as I trusted, I had no idea what was coming.

The first thing was to allow no abuse, ever again.  I had not realised how much I was still disrespecting myself in overt and covert ways so I drew to me people who mirrored that and I really didn't like it at all.   I reacted to them and walked away as I began to also see what they were reflecting.  I did blame them for how I felt about their behaviour and I kept myself safe from any more of it, I also looked at myself.  I was still smoking and still allowing other people to treat me like crap.  It had to stop, all of it.  I did not know then what I know today so I worked with what I did know-the abuse had to stop.  I kicked the cigs and all hell broke loose inside, so I set to work exploring why and found the tattered remnants of my poor ego.  The core strength of my ego had its own rebirth to navigate and I had not known it was there beneath all of the parts of myself I had befriended and learned to love by then.  This core part was determined to fight me off and not allow the surrender I was contemplating but the soul offered support and the journey suddenly went a whole new shade of rainbows.

I dug in and set about learning to love this hissing, spitting, writhing, terrified serpent inside and held the intention to love, love, love myself no matter what I found.  I finally allowed every feeling to arise unhindered and let the energy flow freely without trying to figure out why first.  I put conscious safety measures in place and, like any loving parent would, I allowed the child within me to be a child while I held the space and provided nurturing when and where it was needed.  I let go of everything that was not a priority for that child's development and gave myself 100% to being there for that baby me.  I knew in my heart what was coming and I wanted to give myself that gift.  7 years ago I saw the internal future I was creating and I swore that I would become the strong loving mother I needed myself to be for me.  Now I had and I knew that blazing golden soul would be bursting to life within me so I had to keep going.  I wanted to keep going. In the end I stopped worrying what it might cost and just jumped in.  It cost almost all I'd worked for but, I'd already pondered what I would not want to lose and I still have that so the things I did lose don't matter now, probably they never really did.  Things like my income, most of my friends, my job, professional respect, my 'tribe', my 'calling' my old cloak of security; but my husband, my kids and grandkids, my self-respect, my integrity, my love and my passion,  they have all grown with me.

The inner strength I once thought I had is nothing compared to the strength I have now.  Allowing myself to traverse again the metaphorical womb-space of creation has taken me to a whole new level of being that I am not yet going to describe.  I am finally free of everything I once thought caged me or wrapped me in fear, all the shackles are off and I am finally dancing into life with joy.  There will be no more abuse because I know my own value now and refuse anything less than respect from others and from myself.   I now know that it's okay to feel joy, wonder, bliss, excitement, happiness, exhilaration, peace and gratitude too and boy do I feel all that.

This baby me has brought me fully to life for the very first time and that to me is worth all that I once had and more.  I don't know what plans God has for my future and that's okay. Now matters too much to worry and I need to focus on not allowing myself to shut down the flow of joy.  My primary concern is to enjoy this moment to the full and to be grateful I've got the moment to enjoy.  That's where I'm at and what I'm doing and that's enough right now.  The child in me is busy being, the parent in me is busy protecting and nurturing and the adult in me is busy too.  I'm giving, receiving, praying, learning, taking responsibility, letting go, expanding, contracting, growing, loving and blazing.  Who I am right now is enough and I can't think of any me I'd rather be.  That's my service to me and to this world and I'm happy to serve.

Angels Among Us

I believe there are angels among us.

There are many different theories about Angels and I think it's so important for each theory to be respected.  I don't think anyone needs to adopt another's theory around anything but respecting a persons right to hold a belief is where I sit myself.  Of course some beliefs are toxic and even dangerous so I'd hardly want to support those beliefs but I can still respect others people rights to have their own beliefs. In believing Angels are among us, I don't expect anyone else to believe it too, it simply brings me comfort to believe it myself and I share the belief from a place of love.

For me, Angels come in many forms and particularly as people and animals.  Having spent decades in darkness and misery, I can now look back from this place of freedom and positivity that  I'm in and see so many Angels have appeared along the way.  One was a gentle, loving and compassionate school teacher in first class and as a six year old, I actually thought she really was an angel then.  One was the man who found me in a crashed car when I was 15 and almost died, he reassured me until help arrived.  One was a lovely woman across the world who created an online safe place for survivors of extreme trauma to connect and share.  One was a man who appeared in my life when I thought I wanted to die and took me on an adventure to have fun.  Two were in the form of heroin addicts who helped me survive when I forgot how.  One was my sister when my life as I knew it ended.  One was my father when I almost went bankrupt and had to live in my car for three months.  One was my brother and his wife who took me picnicking so I wouldn't kill myself.  My children have been Angels in my life since they were born.  My stepchildren and their parents are Angels in my life who taught me a lot about love.  The people whom I have friended online are Angels to me with so much teaching and inspiration every day.  My real life friends are Angels to me that light up the darkest moments.  My husband has always been an angel to me as were the people I worked with and all of the other people I have ever met online, face-to-face, or in any other form.  At least a dozen animals have been Angels in my life who brought me tender love and companionship in the loneliest and bleakest times.  My grandparents were guardian Angels to me always.

I know there are theories that Angels cannot be human and I respect that.  For me, Angels are divine messengers and can work through anyone, anything, anytime.  What I love is thanking human Angels and acknowledging that I see them.  Have you ever told someone how much you appreciate the role they have played in your life?  Have you even thought about it? I've done it now with health professionals, coworkers, friends, shop attendants, customer service operators, centrelink, Telstra, anyone really, who helps my day in any small way face-to-face, online and over the phone.

After having so many truly horrific experiences in this life, I've become very aware of Angels and the difference they make.  I remember once getting harassed by centrelink every time I went there for 18 months and then one day I got someone nice.  I was so grateful that I wrote to the government to thank them and encourage them to hire more people like that and I had made sure to get her name too so she would be acknowledged.  I decided that day that from then on I would always speak up when people made a positive impact on me.  That decision has helped me drive negativity out and create a place for very positive energy.  Where I once was so pessimistic that I could  not imagine how anyone could be positive, now I can flip anything at all and find a positive in it, even the trauma and abuse I experienced for the first 35 years of my life.  I've finally found Angels in that too.

Kind words when I'm feeling low; phone calls out of the blue; text messages of encouragement; friendly waves in the street; loving hugs; offers of help; gifts of food, clothes or money; feedback; requests for assistance; smiles; laughter; safety; information; wisdom; guidance; music; prayer; healing; inspiration; support; love.

Yes I believe that Angels are among us and that makes it real for me so I feel more joy too.  I hope that whatever brings you love and light is acknowledged in your world too and that like me, you speak up and let others know the difference they have made or the light that they have brought.  It makes a difference to them to know it and often the nicest people have no idea how nice they appear to others because they fight their own battles too.
